Budgeting is Not for the Weak

Hello everyone! Let’s take a deep dive into an important aspect of finances: budgeting. Sticking to a budget has become synonymous with being cheap and simply not spending your money. I am here to tell you it’s less about restriction and more about strategy.

Budgeting is basically just a plan for your money. Instead of randomly spending it, you decide where it should go. It's like having a roadmap for your finances. Set your destination and follow your financial GPS all the way to the bank.

But Arjun, why should I bother with budgeting when I could just spend my money freely? Well, budgeting helps you take charge of your money. By keeping track of what you earn and what you spend, you can see where your money is going and make smarter choices.

Example: You can spend your $$ on your daily Starbucks habit or blinding throw it to you loot boxes, OR you can save for your gap year in Europe. Maybe save for that car you’ve been eyeing at the Razzari dealership.

Budgeting is not for the week. Becoming more disciplined with your money can be just as difficult as going to the gym regularly. It's like practicing good habits. The more you do it, the better you get at managing your finances.

Plus, having a budget can save you from financial emergencies. By setting aside some money for unexpected expenses, you won't have to worry as much when things go wrong.

Getting started doesn’t have to be difficult or life changing. Start small. Pick a goal i.e., a specific dollar amount, a trip, and bigger ticket item, a deposit for an apartment etc. Figure out how much money you have coming in and set a plan to save. It's not about restricting yourself; it's about making your money work for you. So, whether you're a total newbie or a budgeting pro, remember budgeting is the key to financial success.

Livin’ that newbie life,

Arjun Lakireddy
